A hierarchy may emerge from an agreement of functions rather than domination. LXSpatium’s layers view makes this visible: Core, Spatium, AES, representation, and interpretation do not play the same role, but their graphical order mainly expresses responsibilities and dependencies. It must never be read as an ontological hierarchy of entities.
